Sarvajanik Ganesh Mahotsav

Sarvajanik Ganesh Mahotsav, “The Festival of Unity,” is organized over a 5-day period each year. The Ganesha idol is installed at the Saraswath Sanskriti Bhavan on Ganesh Chaturthi day, with the Visarjan Pooja held on the 5th day thereafter.

This year marks our 49th celebration. As in previous years, the festivities will span 5 days, from 7th September to 11th September 2024, with the immersion ceremony taking place on the 6th day, 12th September 2024.

We uphold the tradition initiated by Shri Lokmanya Tilak in 1893, transforming the private Ganesh festival into a grand public event that promotes culture and unity among the masses. Thousands of devotees participate in the daily poojas, followed by traditional South Indian community lunches and dinners (Prasad).

Several distinguished guests from the government—ministry and bureaucracy—and eminent leaders from the corporate world have visited our Samaj and participated in the Ganesh Mahotsav every year since its inception.

A grand Ganesha Shobha Yatra is organized from Old Rajendra Nagar to the Samaj Bhavan. This yatra begins on Ganesh Chaturthi day at 7:45 AM.

Each day, Trikala Pooja is conducted. Individuals can participate in various poojas and sevas such as Gana Homa, Mooda Ganapathi Pooja, and Ranga Pooja, which are held at different times throughout the day.

Tulabharam Seva is organized on all 5 days.

We invite devotees to participate in the sevas and poojas throughout the Mahotsav.
